Camping Weekend - Part 2

So, after a fine breakfast on Sunday morning of french toast, donuts, juice, sausages (and everything else that was planned for Monday breakfast), we packed up camp and got the heck out of Cape Disappointment.  Within 10 minutes of traveling SW, we came upon this lovely state park that was sunny & warm, and right on the water.  We decided to let the kids play and have a picnic lunch before heading home.

This dead tree and log were the perfect hideout for our star wars/ewok/pirates.

I love the shot below with the seagull mid-flight off Caelan's shoulder, and you can also see Cape Disappointment encased in clouds and fog in the background.

Playing with Hannah in the rocks.....

That is one dirty butt......in fact, these little pants are still stained.  I'm not sure they will ever be the same.

Love these shots of the boys playing....

After lunch, the boys discovered that the water was really shallow for quite a ways out.  That is Isaac and Hannah running in the water.

Caelan even enjoyed playing in the warm shallow water.

Caelan put her head on Sean's chest and would have fallen asleep right there.  That's when we knew we should pack up and hit the road so that she could get a good nap.

This stop over was a definite highlight to our weekend.  Unfortunately, it went downhill from there.  It took us nearly 7 hours to get from Astoria, OR to Issaquah due to terrible traffic/accidents blocking the freeway.  We didn't get home until 9:15pm, and the kids had sand in every nook and cranny.   We were so glad to be home!
