Fun in March

It was pretty difficult to adjust from our wonderful vacation in Mexico to our dreary rainy & cold Washington.  But, we’re getting there.

Below is a picture of Cassidy modeling her new bracelets Brennan picked out for her in Mexico.

One night after dinner Brennan was goofing in the living room and told me to watch his ‘yoga moves’ so I decided to search youtube and found some actual Yoga for kids videos.  We all had fun trying out to the moves.

Right after we got back from vacation, Brennan was ‘Star of the Week’ at school.   Here he is with his poster.  Generally kids are ‘Stars’ the week of their birthday, but there are apparently a lot of kids with birthdays in May, so he ended up in March.  Every day was a different activity.  And, he got a book written by all the kids in his class each describing why he’s special – mostly commenting on his love of legos, star wars, or power rangers.  He also got to bring a secret in a bag that the other kids had to guess about – his was his bottle of sand.   The smile below is what I get a lot when I ask him to ‘Smile’…..you can see Caelan gave me a love smile complete with a head tilt.

There’s a better smile from my little star!

Interpretations might be needed:

I like myself because – I am fast and strong

I am thankful for – my sister (aka sester)

My favorite place to be – Cabo San Lucas (which sounds like Caboandlooces to a 5yr old)

Below are some pictures from Brennan’s last day of basketball practice.  He loved the warming up part, and the running…..but kind of bored during the ‘games’ – which really means they all just stand under the basket, or stand right in front of the guy with the ball, blocking them and yelling at them to pass….and then there has to be equality, so just because he rebounded the ball, it usually got taken away from him and given to a kid who needed a turn.

Final Mexico Pictures

Our last day in Mexico @ breakfast.….

DSC_6557DSC_6562

Brennan got very brave and ran down to ask these guys how much it was to rent a jetski.  $50 seemed a little steep.  Maybe next time…..

He loved those Mango Smoothies.

Notice Caelan in the background swimming away.  She went back and forth in the pool with just those water wings.

cute when you are two, and you are on vacation, and tired…..not cute any other time….

Just some fun with my camera….

One of the other hot tubs.  Beautiful sun set.

The kids got to go onstage and whack at a piƱata on our last night.

Our plane didn’t leave until 5:30pm on our last day so we were able to go to the pool/beach and relax a little bit more before packing up and heading to the airport.

Riding to the airport, Caelan wouldn’t stay in her seat, so you can see Sean has her in a tight arm lock…..but she was fading fast.

Shortly after this picture was taken, Brennan piped up from the back to tell me that he wasn’t feeling well.  We had him move up next to Grandpa and shortly after he lost his cookies in a water cup I had along.  Luckily we were just pulling into the airport, and he bounced right back and had no other problems.  He was too far back, hot, tired, and traffic was a little stop and go.

Almost Done with Pictures from Mexico….almost

I am truly addicted to my camera….and pictures….so I’m sorry, but this blog is my ‘baby’ and a good way to keep track of some of my most favorite pictures…..I’m almost done with Mexico, promise.

Caelan got pretty tired of hearing Brennan getting praised for his swimming skills, so she decided to go ‘all out.”  It was crazy, she would jump in, with no concern about if you were watching or ready for her….and then just float, completely relaxed with her face in the water, waiting for someone to scoop her up.

Here is Caelan hanging out at the other hot tub – she was so funny.  It was quite hot, but she really wasn’t fazed, especially if she had her floaty.

DSC_6427

Look at this pose….hysterical….she would grab each foot and float in the splits and just smile and flirt.

DSC_6429

Caelan LOVED the nightly entertainment during dinner and was usually cutting up the dance floor.

DSC_6433

Pretty sure this one is going to have to be on my wall…..

DSC_6438

Caelan came up to me yammering and talking up a storm, and crossing her arms like this.  I don’t know what she was telling me, but she was serious….it was so cute!

Serious boy about filling up his bottle of sand.  We actually hauled it home and he shared it with his class when he was ‘Star of the Week.’

Oh, my sweet girl, I can’t get enough of her!

This guy was going up and down the beach…..kind of a cool contraption – not sure if he was selling rides or what.  His jets were being powered by a little motor that was riding along the surface of the water – its behind the guy in the green hat.

Some group shots….wish I had thought to have someone take a picture of all of us with that view in the background.

More dancing…..

Scuba Diving in Mexico

Jack got a little bit stir-crazy doing ‘nothing’ on our vacation, so one day he decided to take a free scuba diving lesson through our resort.  He decided to sign up for a dive and Sean decided to join him.  It was a great ‘once in a lifetime’ kind of activity for both of them, but I’m not sure if it will become a regular occurrence.  Both of them ended up kind of nauseous at the end of their dive, and Jack’s vision was blurry for hours after.  Jack bought the DVD of pictures that the dive leader took, so we ended up with some decent pictures to commemorate the event.

They also took a para-plane ride during this trip to Mexico, but no cameras were allowed on that adventure.  They both got to see whales from the air, which would have been cool to capture.  Oh, well…..next time, if I can pull myself away from the pool, I’m going whale-watching!
