Tulips 2012 - Part 2

LOVE the color contrast in these pictures.....so beautiful.....

Sean told her to smell the flower here - and she went to eat it.....

Love the picture below too....such a fun set up with both kids riding on shoulders walking on either side of the path - with red tulips on one side and the green field on the left, and the school bus in the background.....

As we stopped for a snack, Brennan was having fun jumping up and down and then seeing the picture afterwards.....these are pretty fun action shots.

I broke out my other lense for this shot - and I am so pleased with it.....

My beautiful, tired boy....

Grandpa taking a picture of Caelan.....

And these are his shots.....

Still smiling even through she is so so tired here....

Below is my attempt to get them to both smile at me.....first fail, but at least I got kind of a cute smile out of Brennan.....
Second fail.....would have been so cute.....
Third attempt....we'll take it....

Leaving the fields for the day.  On the way to get ice cream.....

So, ice cream was an epic fail.  When we drove by in the early afternoon, there was a line out the door - maybe 30 people, so we decided to come back later.  When we went back at 4:30pm, the line was at least 150 - I kid you not.....I wish I had gotten a picture.  This was a line to get ice cream.  Yes, it is good ice cream, and the scoops are the size of your head.....but its still just ice cream.

After standing in the line for 10minutes, we negotiated with Brennan to go to Red Robin instead.  It took some doing, but he finally gave in.  He got to order a Hot Fudge Sundae there - and that filled the bill.  I wish I had gotten a picture of that too.  The other "win" with Red Robin were the balloons.  That kept Caelan relatively happy on the way home and also kept her from falling asleep.  win/win.....

Tulips 2012 - Part 1

After our day of yard work on Saturday, we took the opportunity Sunday to head to the Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon.  We left around 12:30pm, because in theory, I thought Caelan would then nap the whole way there and be refreshed.  But, with the distraction of Papa sitting in the back seat with her - there was no chance of a nap.  So, she was pretty "lumpy" by the time we got there.  She was happy to ride along with Grandpa....

What handsome boys I have, huh?

The picture below is from Grandpa's perspective.....
 And here's mine....
The next pictures are so funny.....you can see that Brennan has a granola bar in his hand.....and slowly, as he wraps his arms around his sister, she sees the granola bar.....

.....and says, hey, I'll take that.....

Rare picture of me with my baby....

Family picture with all four of us smiling at the camera.....impossible.....(especially Brennan)

  Close-up of a decent smile.....I'll take it....
 Upside-down tickles from Grandpa.....

Reading with Grandpa...

Grandpa surprised us by driving to WA - which involved looking at a new snow plow along the way, and bringing me a new BBQ (sales tax-free).

Caelan always takes a bit to warm up, but by Sunday morning, she was warmed up to Grandpa, and felt comfortable enough to bring him a book and crawl up into his lap.

Love the picture below - Brennan is smiling is such a cute way.  I wish he would smile like that for me more often.
