Cute stories from our trip to MT

A few stories I have to share and document - as I don't want to forget them.

When are at the cabin in MT, Brennan always sleeps on the bed with the orange mattress in the picture above.  Sean usually sleeps in the bed with the blue blanket on it, and Caelan and I sleep over on the other side of the loft.  Every night, Brennan ends up falling out of his bed and Sean finds him asleep on the floor with little to no covers.  You will see in the picture above, I actually created "landing pads"for him on either side.  One night we asked him if he wanted to change beds, or move his bed against the wall so that he wouldn't fall out, and he was VERY opposed to that plan.  He then told us that "God and Jesus were pushing him out of bed."  We assured him that was not likely the case....but that night when I turned off the light and snuggled him in he started praying (totally not provoked) "God, please stop pushing me out of my bed at night.....I'm a good guy not a bad guy.  Amen."  I could hardly keep from busting out laughing.  And, of course, that night he fell out of bed again.....and he said "mama, God didn't listen to me and pushed me out of bed again."

The other funny story was at church on Sunday morning.  Brennan went up for the Childrens Sermon, and although we could not see him, we knew the voice was his saying "Excuse me, who's that up there?" pointing to the crucifix above the alter.  The Priest replied, "Jesus" and continued with his sermon until Brennan interrupted again....."Excuse me, what's he doing up there?"  The Priest replied "It's a LONG story, but it does end well."  I, of course, had to assure the Priest after the service that Brennan DOES know who Jesus is, as we DO read him the bible.....but our church just has a cross on the alter, and his kid's bible doesn't show Jesus hanging on the cross in such a graphic way.  I guess he has become famous at Our Lady of the Valley, though.  Maggie Brennan was not in mass on that Sunday, but was having tea with another lady the following week and the lady started recounting the cute story of the little boy in mass.  Maggie pointed to a picture of Brennan she has and asked "was it that little boy?" - and sure enough it was.  Grandpa was also talking with someone else from Anaconda who happened to hear the story.......so, our little guy has made quite a name for himself.  I'm pretty sure the story will pop up again during the Priest's Easter sermon.....

Road Trippin' It

All set with teddy, sunglasses, and a cozy blanket.....

Just as she loved sledding, she loved swimming.....squealed with glee with anticipation of getting in the pool each time.

Both kids love riding in the luggage cart at the hotel.

Set for Day 2 in the car - B is set with his iPod and movies, and C slept for most of the way.....

Fun in the Valley - and other Random Cabin Pics

Grandpa's horse....
 Feeding Grandpa's horses....
Snowball fights with Grandpa - I love all of these so much I can't pick my favorites....I love my beautiful handsome joyful boy.....

Bubble fun in the big jetted tub at the cabin....

Caelan was so happy to find Grandpa Roger's chair at the cabin - she ran right to it and sat down and looked completely at home.....it has found a good home there right by the wood stove.

Caelan with Nana the morning that we left....

Look at this snow on the roof - we were amazed at how it was hanging there.....
 Some cool icicles....

Fun at the cabin....

While Nana and I were preparing dinner one night, the kids discovered that there were a couple of really good cabinets at the cabin - perfect for playing in.  You might be wondering why Caelan is wearing Brennan's underpants.....I was folding laundry and she was "helping" me and she stole these underpants (so rest assured they are clean) and sat down and struggled to get them on, so I decided to just let her wear them.  She thought she was pretty "hot stuff" - Yes, these will be shown to her future boyfriends someday.

Nana and Grandpa are AMAZING at playing with their grandkids.  Nana spends HOURS with Brennan at the cabin playing whatever he wants to do - beach volleyball upstairs, legos, and even Transformer battles.  Grandpa is notorious for trying to eat Brennan's "bologna belly", or his neck, or his ribs - which means non-stop tickling.  This year Caelan got in on the action in trying to defend her brother.....

Had to take some cabin pictures with my new camera......we go there all the time but sometimes forget to take pictures of the "place."

Let the Sledding Fun begin

Brennan was had fun jumping on the sled with cousin Debbi's oldest son Garrett.......here he is saying "again, again...."

We clearly have a daredevil of a daughter - at 14mo. she LOVED sledding.  She would absolutely squeal with delight and anticipation every time she was put on the sled and Sean started "loading up."  I really LOVE the pictures I got of both of their smiles.....

Montana Bonfire January 2012

On Saturday, we had a bonfire up at the cabin with Sean's family - Aunt Pat supplied the food - hotdogs, pasta salad, chips, hot chocolate, smores, etc.....it was a great time!

Just some great shots of my handsome boy....

A queen on her throne...

Brennan had a great time throwing snowballs at Fred, Sean's cousin Debbi's friend.

Grandpa Jack thought we needed more wood for the bonfire - so he decided to cut down a tree.....
Note in the background of the picture below that Jack has thrown Debbi in the snowbank.....I don't remember what brought that on, and I actually didn't capture it on film on purpose......but I got it - and Jack looks like he is trying to run from the crime scene.
Sean had to work the backhoe to clear out some snow since the snow plow was out of commission.
 Thumbs up for hotdogs.
Riding on the 4-wheeler.  Don't worry, cousin Dennis had a tight hold of Caelan and they were going slow.
Eating....
