Random Shots of September 2009

Singing in the Rain....during the summer, Brennan and I headed to Gymboree and the Farmers Market in Issaquah. It was really raining one morning when we headed out... Last weekend, Brennan and I headed to the mall and we were gone most of the day. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I left the house that I discovered I only had one diaper with me. He did pretty good, until I stopped for take out on the way home. Because he had been in the same diaper all day, I changed him while I waited for our food. Of course, it was not two seconds later that he pronounced to everyone in the restaurant that he had "pooped it" and he sure did! I was worried it was going to come out the top, so I just cleaned him up and put him in his car seat with a blanket and a changing pad.....and told him "please don't poop again until we get home." Discovering the art of blowing bubbles through a straw....we added a little soap to amp up the fun.
We went to the dentist last week and Brennan would not open his mouth. The dentist suggested we bring home some "tricks of the trade" to try and get him warmed up to the idea for next time we give it a try. He LOVES playing dentist...
Last night when I checked on Brennan before I went to bed I found him looking like this.....I just had to take a picture because he and teddy were sprawled is a very similar way....too cute to pass up! Cooking Shrimp with Mama!

Bad Mama

We drove to Puyallup on Friday to go the fair, and I FORGOT MY CAMERA! I almost cried. We had such a fun day, and Brennan had a blast riding a bunch of rides, and I have NO PICTURES to show for it. I can't believe it. Anyway, he rode these little motorcycles, twice....he went on a little boat ride, and a dump truck ride, and he and I rode a choo-choo train and when down one of those big slides. At the end of the day he went on this little car ride along a track. He just has no fear.....its pretty amazing....

Funniest story of the day is he was saying "mama, I want to ride the motorcycles" and I said "dude, I'm all out of tickets" he promptly found what the ticket booth and pointed and said "get more tickets, mama." In very short order he figured out the system to get what he wanted.

He woke up the next morning talking about those motorcycles and how he sat in my lap to go down that big big big slide.

Memories that will have to live in our hearts and minds.....boo-hoo for now pictures.....

Eating Corn on the Cob

This was taken a few weeks ago, but I thought it was so cool how he actually repeated a rhythm rather than just "bang bang bang."
