Funny Brennan Stories

I was trying to explain to Brennan where Grandpa was hurt....so, I asked him where his hiney was.....he replied "My hiney is in my diaper, mama."

Same night, I told Brennan that we needed to give papa some privacy while he talked to someone on the phone and he said "Oh, mama, I know where you can find some good privacy"....then he went into our laundry room, and came out with a roll of toilet paper saying "this is some good privacy, mama."

When Brennan was very little, he just HATED his car seat. He would cry and cry - we called it "going tomato." Anyway, one of the only things to get him to stop crying was to sing "Annie's Song" by John Denver (it was the only song I could sing all the words to). Recently, while I was brushing his teeth, I started singing it "you fill up my senses...." he got up & grabbed me around the neck and said, "Let's all sing it...papa, sing" and then as if he had a stein of beer in his hand, started rocking back and forth and singing at the top of his lungs "YOU FILL UP MY SENSES...." It was a total "full circle" moment for me, and made me tear up a little. I know, I'm a geek....Brennan will be the only kid who knows who John Denver is....(<8 I LOVE IT~!

Crazy way to start 2009

Last Friday (1/7)we got a call from Nana in Montana, telling us that Grandpa Jack had gotten bucked off his horse (again) and this time it was quite serious. His femur was pushed up into his pelvis, shattering it in several places. He was airlifted to Harborview MC in Seattle on Friday afternoon. He had surgery on Monday, and now today (1/16) he is finally feeling better. He was up walking today with a walker and PT, and we're hoping he will be discharged sometime on Monday or Tuesday.

We've been blessed to have Nana here since 1/8 - and she's becoming a real pro at riding the bus into the hospital. Then we usually go and see Grandpa and pick her up in the evenings. Sean will drive them home sometime next week.

Favorite Christmas memories & quotes...

I've gotta share some of these before I forget....

Brennan has really taken to Christmas carols....he loves to sing them. His favorites were Holly Jolly Christmas, Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer, and 12 Days of Christmas. He was just singing the last song tonight as we were getting ready for bed. He belted out "Six Turtle Ducks and a Partridge in a Pear Tree....five GOOLLLLDDD rings..." - it is so cute....but I haven't had much luck capturing it on film.

Another funny memory was when we were watching the Disney movie Ratatouille - it went on commercial break and Brennan exclaimed...."I want to keep watching that Tatoo the Rabit movie....it was so funny....I know maybe you had to be there to get how funny it was.
