She's not always smiling.....this was her reaction in between bites of carrots & peas the other night. She liked it - but I think the texture was a little funny and she was really figuring it out....
But, she's pretty darn good at smiling....

Tonight was a beautiful night, and Sean had plans to meet a friend for beers and dinner, so I packed up the kiddos for a picnic in the park.

Caelan is trying to figure out the cheerios thing.....most of the time they end up on her lip - as seen in this picture.

Happy Fathers Day!

Yesterday we celebrated father's day with donuts for breakfast and Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner. I very sincerely told Sean yesterday "Happy Father's Day - our kids are very lucky to have you as their papa." Brennan overhead what I said and piped up from the living room "mama, is papa going somewhere?" I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. I guess he thought I was buttering papa up for something.....

So, all that know Brennan know that he has ALWAYS been very musical. He can hear a song on the radio ONCE and it gets stuck in his head and that's it. He started singing Gaga after hearing it on the radio, then I decided to download the "clean" version onto the ipod, and the rest is documented in the attached video.

Yes, this will absolutely be shown to his first serious girlfriend, and likely be shown at his rehearsal dinner. It is total "blackmail" material. I love how Caelan reacts to his singing....so funny!

Pirate Treasure Hunt Details

I wanted to share/document the details of the Pirate Treasure Hunt we had during Brennan's party on Sunday. Sean really did an incredible job pulling together all of the "creative".

Below was the message in the bottle that started off the hunt:

Ahoy Matey,
I see ye found my message in a bottle. If the treasure of Pirate park ye desire then grab yer mateys and beware the fire.
Clue #1
The pieces of your pirate map are hidden where the pirates nap!
Your Friend,
Peter Pan

Then they searched for the following clues by looking at the puzzle/map they put together...
Clue #2
Go to the place where three are green and tall thar be the next clue y’all.

Clue #3
At 15 steps towards hummingbird tree upon the soild ground ye be, seek your next clue, what do you see.


CLue #4
Now search the peaks of Pirate park one holds great treasure under it’s bark! Stop upon the x you see, thar my pirate treasure be!

This was in the treasure box, along with a package of chocolate Gold Coins…..

Happy Birthday Brennan - Round 2

Decorating the cake the day before the Pirate Party - note his Jake and the Neverland Pirates Bandana.

The pirate party.....
Please notice the green bottle on the table in front of the cake. That holds the message in a bottle from Peter Pan - leading Brennan and his pirate crew around the yard in search of buried treasure. Sean did an amazing job setting this all up.

All the kids got pirate bandanas and spy glasses when they got there, and while we waited for everyone to arrive, Grandpa Roger read everyone a story called "How I Became a Pirate"

Sean set up the yard as Pirate Camp and hid puzzle pieces around camp for the kids to find, put together and follow clues to the buried treasure.
