Preschool Graduation & Picnic

I'm kind of bummed that all of my pictures from Preschool Graduation are blurry.....not sure what happened?  But, this would have been a cute one....

grrr....this would have been a great one too....

The ceremony was so cute, and I did get a video of that I will have to edit and post later.

This is Mrs Colpitts.  She was definitely his favorite teacher and was a big fan and very complimentary of his joyful spirit.....as well as worked with us the most on his recurring "red chair" behavior.

Below is what we got on his last day of school.  I particularly like that his "things that make him happy are "when mama carries him to bed at night."  That is precious to me.....we read books in our master bedroom and every night I carry him from our bedroom to his.  Someday I physically won't be able to do it anymore, but I think it is really important to him.  Especially with the addition of a baby sister.  It is our time for him to still be my little boy.....

Below is the card he made for Sean at school for Father's Day.....

We laughed alot about how his favorite thing about Papa is that he makes him food.

The boys would always run around and 'battle' a little after school.

On the Friday of his last day of school, they had an all school picnic.  Below is Alexander and Brennan realizing that they had on the same rainboots.

Relay races.....hopping like a bunny.  I love how the people in line are practicing their bunny....

Of course, my husband is always in the mix playing.....I'm worried that someday he will hurt himself with these antics....

Final pictures from the birthday party weekend....

Nana had to have a duel with Caelan after Brennan, the Jedi, learned how to defeat her.

Pouring, pouring, pouring.....her favorite thing to do with her water table....

Climbing like her Brother.....

Our little girl has no fear......here are a few pictures of her climbing......and I'll post a video soon.  I have pictures of Brennan climbing like this at the park at about the same age.

Brennan's Jedi Birthday Party - FINAL....

I LOVE this picture.....Yoda looks exactly like the wise old man that he should, and the Jedi's are now full of cake and the 'after party' battles have begun.

 My beautiful little Princess Leia.

Love her eyelashes in this picture....

Caelan is so tired in this picture.  I was so busy with the party that I couldn't hold her all the time, so she was happy with Jen (Cassidy's mom)

Yoda, and Damian (Vader) and Damian's dad in the background.

Brennan and his good friend Alexander....

 Handing out Jedi Certificates....

Brennan's Jedi Birthday Party -VADER Finale

As part of my decorations at the party, I made these signs of quotes from Yoda in the movie....

The finale of the Jedi trials was a battle with Darth Vader.  Here, Sean is telling the new Jedi's that he senses a 'disturbance in the force."  and we changed the music to the Imerial March (Vader's theme song).

I put an ad on the Microsoft Classified and found a guy who was willing to let me borrow his very authentic Darth Vader costume - the 'price' was to dry clean it afterwards.....a small price to pay.

Our neighbor Damian (Cassidy's Dad) is a complete Star Wars junkie and he took this role VERY seriously.  He tried on the costume late Saturday night and he was like a kid in a very very hot candy store (pleather does not breathe very well.....let alone that helmet).  He insisted that he and Sean "duel" as Obi-Wan and Darth duel in the movie, and they practiced the battle the night before.  Damian even had all the lines from the movie memorized.

He had a button he could push that would make the breathing sounds that 'define' Darth Vader.

Qui-Gon Jen was in charge of keeping the kids back.

The battle between Obi-Wan & Darth Vader.
We were so worried that the kids would FREAK....especially Cassidy who is the least familiar with Star Wars.  But, they were OK....

After Obi-Was was defeated, and retreated to the garage, the kids were set free to 'get' Vader!  And, they ATTACKED.....and put their newly practiced Light Saber moves to use.

So, after Darth was defeated, he dashed back to the garage and we distracted the kids by announcing that it was cake time.

Here is my attempt at a Storm Trooper Cake.  Clearly mama should have done more studying up.  After being up all night long making this cake, I was pretty excited for Brennan to see it Sunday morning.  His first words...."mama, I wanted a Clone Trooper cake, not a Storm Trooper Cake!"  Honestly, I didn't know they looked different.....but apparently they do - and he knew it.....  That reaction almost got him a cake in the face!

And, I was very disappointed because the black food coloring 'leaked' overnight and streaked all over the white.  I tried to fix it before the party, but by the time we brought it out to cut, it had streaked again all over.  Oh well....it tasted yummy.

What didn't get captured on film, is the fact that after Darth Vader was defeated, Damian changed out of the costume and came inside.  Sean then changed into the costume, and we closed the blinds behind Brennan in the picture above.  Then, just as the kids were sitting there eating cake, Damian flipped the blinds, and there was Vader (Sean) standing there waving at the kids - and then he bolted......again, this whole plan was all Damian's doing, but he was worried that Cassidy would figure out that her Daddy was in the costume and wanted to try and throw her off the scent.  I wish we had gotten a picture of it.

A great group shot after cake.

a sneak peak of our cute little Yoda (Ewan is Cassidy's baby brother).
