Easter weekend 2013 was beyond beautiful in Seattle – 70-80 degrees, and blue skies. So, on Saturday we decided to go on a hike – 4.2 miles roundtrip to a place called Rattlesnake Ledge. It is a very very popular hike – we probably met 200 people going up and down the trail and on the top. But, Brennan did such a good job – he hike the whole way with his backpack which was pretty heavy with water. Caelan rode in the pack some, and hiked some, and splatted flat on the trail at least 10 times. My girl is TOUGH and has a lot of perseverance. After each fall she would cry and want to be held, but usually within a minute she would want down to hike some more.
Brennan with his backpack, and Sean carrying Caelan. (this backpack was handed down from Steve & Julie – its probably at least 13 years old….still going strong).
Borrowing Mama’s hiking pole….
From the top, looking East…..
Sean – looking South…..
Getting carried after one of many falls…..
Right back at it…..see those knees…..a mark of her toughness.
There was a tantrum every time she got put back in the pack.
Sean let her out of the pack again, and in a very very rare occurrence, she actually let “Broeder” hold her hand…..
