A bunch of Drawings

 

So, after I came home from MT, I started cleaning up around the house, and took a bunch of pictures of the different drawings and artwork around the house. 

I love this one from Brennan…..love the movement/splash detail on the whale in the picture below.  and I also love that he’s a happy whale with a big smile. 

Again, I love that the ship captain in this picture has a big smile.

The book below is called “Bob Bullied Gerry”.  I think they must have talked about Bullies at school.  He came home very intent on writing this book. 

Below is from way back in October…..the green one apparently are zombies with a lightening cloud in a graveyard (I have NO IDEA where he saw anything like this – the only thing I can think of is a TV commercial he might have seen).  And, and angry pumpkin….

This one is from kindergarten…..I love how he sounded out “Padey”….

Below are a couple of chore charts that I have created for the kids.  I usually pull up a picture of the character Brennan wants and do my best to sketch it out.  This one was one of my better ones, for sure.  This is Laval from Chima (a lego thing)

In April, we ventured to Helena to be there for Nana’s surprise 70th Birthday Party.  It was a great celebration!

After the party on Sunday night, I had to fly home to go to work and left Sean and the kids to ‘play’ in MT.  I don’t have a copy of the picture/video of BOTH kids driving the big blue truck, but I do have these of the fun they had…..

This is an old video of Caelan I am just now getting around to sharing.  Sean was mentioning that she would sing her little heart out when they were on the bike getting B to and from school.  I wanted to try and capture some of her best songs.....

FROZEN CRAZE!

So, the kids and I are completely crazy about the movie FROZEN.  We saw it on Christmas Day, and then used YouTube to watch videos of it before it came out on DVD.  The kids know all the lyrics by heart.  Below is Caelan holding her copy on the way home from Costco.  She fell asleep, but her grip on the movie did not falter. 

Skiing Part 2 - lesson with Cassidy

We decided to let the kids have another lesson before the season comes to an end.  Cassidy had also only had one other lesson, but her’s was a private lesson, so she was a little further along than B.  They ended up getting in the same class, and they were the only two kids in the lesson, so it worked out great. 

March Randoms

 

So, on rainy Sundays in the Pacific NW, you sometimes have to be creative with ways to have fun, especially with a high energy 6yr old in the house.  This is a target range set up in our stairway – then they were using our kids Bow&Arrow or nerf guns to shoot them down.  It was worth hours of entertainment! 

I got a kick out of this….Brennan had a lesson at school where he had to draw a picture of something that he can do to help the family…..and he does empty the dishwasher which is a big help.  I loved his picture! 

Again, thank goodness for the dress-up bin on rainy days in PNW!  Caelan picked out this wonderful mixed-up ensemble……oh, and this is a first glimpse of her major haircut! 

Sean was shocked that I let it get cut so short, but I was ready for the ‘rats nest’ to go away.  There were many days where her hair would barely get brushed and because her hair is fine and wavy, it was just a mess.  It is amazing to me how it naturally turns under – it looks as though I’ve curled it that way, but now when she wakes up, it looks like that, and no more rats nest! 

On St. Patrick’s Day, I made a dinner that ended up dirtying almost all of our pots and pans.  Brennan really wanted to try and play my old violin, so he was motivated to speed up the after-dinner process.  I could get used to this….B washed and C rinsed! 

Frozen in More Ways Than One

This is a bit random……but, we had a dinner party with the Hoffmans, and the kids watched the much beloved movie Frozen…..this is them all lined up in a row and ready to watch the show….

Brennan has been begging to go skiing so we finally signed him up for a lesson in late February.  He did very good for his first time on skis….
