Happy Halloween 2013

 

Before trick-or-treating we got the neighbors together to take pictures of the alley crew before it got too dark.  Nate Maybell was also a spy, and Cassidy was ‘black widow’ which is a comic book character – she picked it because it looked like a girl spy.

Brennan carved the orange pumpkin all by himself.  Our pumpkins get pretty ‘funky’ after just 10days in the Pacific Northwest rain.  They are little slug homes of mold.

Jen decided at the last minute to dress up for Halloween and conveniently found a hub cap on the road to use as her shield.  She returned it to where she found it the next day.  (haha)

It’s a tradition to go to the neighbors house for pizza prior to trick-or-treating…..this is all the kiddos.

Green Halloween 2013

 

Way behind on updating the blog again.  I can’t sleep this morning, so now is a good time to get caught up before Caelan’s birthday tomorrow (which will result in a whole new round of pictures). 

The kids and I went to a festival in our neighborhood the Saturday prior to Halloween called “Green Halloween.” 

Brennan is a spy and Caelan is Milli from her favorite show “Team UmiZoomi.”  I had her hat knitted by a gal I met at the Issaquah Farmers Market. 

They even had a trolley that ran up and down the hill to bring people to the festival. 

Of course, we ran into Brennan’s buddy Nate Maybell.

Pumpkin Carving

 

Brennan carved his own pumpkin this year…..Caelan and I carved a ghost pumpkin (white). 

Forgot to mention that Caelan had a major fall on her scooter yesterday evening so you can see she has a terribly scab on her upper lip/nose in these pictures.  Poor tough girl….

Fall Alley Party

 

We have had an absolutely unbelievable fall.  Weather was so nice on Friday that we had an impromptu alley party!  Below is Dylan Maybell….the newest Maybell boy…..

Don’t all parents let their 2-3year olds play on ladders?

We have a GREAT KID!!!

 

I was BEYOND EXCITED when Brennan called me on Wednesday to tell me that he was a ‘GREAT KID’ – such a great kid in fact that he got to sit with the Principal at Lunch!  (honestly, I was a little worried he ‘got’ to sit with the principal for negative reasons until he explained more….

SO excited for a wonderful, experienced teacher who really seems to ‘get’ Brennan’s energy and personality…..such a turnaround from last year! 

The Alley Crew….

 

7+years ago when we moved into this house, I never would have predicted what a playground our alley would someday be.  This is Eli, Brennan, and Nate – who regularly play together in the alley for hours and hours (on weekends, especially).   Eli is a second grader, Brennan is in 1st Grade, and Nate is in kindergarten.  

Adding in Toby, another alley buddy – I think he is in Kindergarten too…..
