Of course, sister loved being a part of the party……

The piñata was filled with the gift bags that have become a required element of birthday parties (hate this) – it had a few life savers, some stickers & temporary tattoos, as well as some angry bird coloring pages and disk shooters.

Brennan & Pace’s 6th Birthday Party–Part 2

Our main activity at the party was a life size mock up of the Angry Bird game.  We used boxes, and green beach balls as the ‘pigs’ and then a sling shot.  The goal was to knock down the pigs.  The kids just had a blast and the day was perfect!

Brennan & Pace’s 6th Birthday Party–Part 1

ALL morning long on Saturday, Brennan kept asking ‘Mama, how much longer until my party?’ – he was driving us crazy.  Finally, we decided to put a movie on for some peace and quiet.  So, while he was watching the movie, he somehow got his hands on a piece of masking tape and ended up putting it on his mouth.  Nana happened to notice that he was watching the movie this way, and called me over to get a picture.  Perfect…..peace and quiet!

We did a joint 6th birthday party with Brennan’s best little friend, Pace.  Pace’s actual birthday was the 25th which fell right on the Memorial Day holiday this year.  So, it just worked out that we could do the party together.  Our theme was the Angry Bird Star Wars game that is played on an iPod or Computer.  I got a lot of ideas on the internet as I wasn’t very familiar with the game.

Do these boys look sweet or what?

The cake was supposed to look like the ‘Death Star Pig’……but no matter how hard I tried, I could not get my fondant to look grey.  Instead, it came out more like a navy blue.  Oh well, it was tasty and Brennan loved it.

The centerpiece was my Angry Bird Bomber bird piñata that I MADE with a large balloon and paper mache.   I was so pleased with how it turned out!

Happy 6th Birthday Brennan!

Brennan turned 6 on May 30th.  It was a Thursday, so he had a great day at school – getting a crown and having his chair decorated - before coming home to open presents.

We made him wait until he was ACTUALLY SIX….which means we waited until after 4:29pm.

He got a jump rope from sister…..

And, a Lego set from Sean and I……isn’t this just the reaction you are going for when giving a present to a kid?

Nana and Grandpa came to be with us for his birthday and they gave him a Super Soaker water gun.

We went to Red Robin for dinner and Brennan basically ate this whole Mudd Pie…..and gave the little ice cream sundae they gave him for his birthday to his little sister.  I went to the diaper to change Caelan’s diaper and was AMAZED by how much he ate just while I was gone.

Caelan’s New Kitchen

A neighbor down the street recently offered to let us have the play kitchen that their kids had grown out of.  Not only did they give us the kitchen, but they gave us a bunch of food and a little grocery cart too!  This set is AMAZING.  Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove – all that have buttons that make noise.  Its truly amazing.  There are many days that she spends 45min-hour cooking dinner for her friends.

On the same day we got the kitchen, I also got, for free, the little playhouse that is behind her in this picture.  So, her room is SET!

Mother’s Day 2013

I am behind again in blogging.  Surprise, surprise…..it’s hard to keep up with everything working full-time with two kids.  But, maintaining this blog is very important to me…..so here we go on catching up.

This isn’t really Mother’s Day related – but Brennan asks frequently when we can go to Mexico again.  It even made it into his journal at school.

Below are the cards he made for Nana and Grandma Carol for Mother’s Day.

And, here are my babies on Mother’s Day.  Seriously, could they be any sweeter?
