Posing in THE rocking chair.....

This chair is one that I rocked in as a little girl. I took the kids out in the yard last night to try and get some pictures of Caelan in the chair. Of course, Brennan wanted to join in too.....

This is tradition......both kids always go to try and stand on the rocker.....I'll have to dig up a picture of Brennan doing the same....

Silly girl....

Caelan frequently tilts her head to the side like this when she is eating.....not sure what that is about, but its pretty funny.
So, of course Brother had to join in too...

Brennan's First Day of Preschool

Brennan's first day of preschool was September 1st. It actually was just an open house, but boy was he excited. The night before he got really excited about making his teachers an "I Love You" card. He is posing with his card in this picture - very very proud. His teachers wondered if he remembered them - I don't think he did, he was just THAT excited about preschool.

The evening he was talking to nana on the phone and she asked if he met any friends at preschool. He told her that "his baby sister was growing up and she was going to be his friend someday." Such a sweet boy....and a sweet thought.

Random August 2011 pics

Beautiful Issaquah sunset.....
We got a bag of hand me downs the other day - which Brennan very proudly folded and piled neatly - a skill learned thanks to a show called "Special Agent Oso." YES, mama has someone to help her fold the laundry - little things make me SO excited!

Yes, I am the one on the LEFT. Any guesses what the two circles are under my mouth? ....yep, that's what happens to your boobs when your body is one with your head......and its also what happens when you are a nursing mother with an observant toddler around.

Caelan's first experience with sweet corn on the cob.

Hike to Snow Lake with Jenny Pastore

We set out to hike to Snow Lake with our good friend Jenny Pastore. It was 8 miles round trip and approx 1600 ft in elevation gain - and Brennan hiked it all! We were so proud of him. It was not without complaint - but overall he was a real trooper. The turning point for him was lunch - after lunch he essentially ran to the lake. And, he motivated himself on the way back to the car by being a "Hiking Transformer."

Below is a picture taken at lunch - Caelan's first experience with an orange.
Happily along for the ride in the backpack....

Brennan was willing to sit there for just a few seconds - overall it was way to scary to sit there and try and poop. He did better than I would have done at that age.

Happy to get out of the pack at the lake.

When I felt the water I thought it was going to way to cold for Caelan and really hesitated when Sean said he was going to dip her toes in. Surprise, Mama....she loved it....not to cold for her.

Happy 9months Baby Sister!
